Return & Refund Policy
Coffee Returns
At Hammer & Chip, we want you to love your brew. If you aren’t completely satisfied with your order, we offer the following options to ensure you find the perfect roast.
1. Unopened Coffee (Full Refund)
If you change your mind or ordered the wrong roast, you may return any unopened and sealed bags of coffee within 14 days of receiving your order.
- Refund: You will receive a full refund for the product price, minus a $4.00 restocking fee.
- Logistics: We will provide you with a pre-paid return shipping label or schedule a date for pickup.
- Condition: The bag must be in its original, untampered packaging to qualify for a refund.
2. Opened Coffee (Free Replacement)
We understand that taste is subjective! If you have opened the bag and found that the roast isn't to your liking, we offer a one-time free replacement of a different roast.
- You get to keep the original bag—no need to send it back!
- The Cost: While the replacement beans are free, if you utilized free shipping and are outside of Alberta, a flat shipping rate of $9.50 will apply. For residents of Alberta, exchange shipments are free.
How to Start a Return or Replacement
To begin the process, please email our support team at info@hammerandchip.com with your order number and the reason for your request.
Note: Please do not mail items back without first contacting us to receive your return label or pickup confirmation.
Additional Details
- Damaged Items: If your order arrived damaged or incorrect due to our error, please contact us immediately so we can make it right at no cost to you.
- Processing Time: Once a return is received at our facility, please allow 5-7 business days for your refund to be processed by your bank.
Alternative Milks, Syrups & Other Consumables:
At Hammer & Chip we strive to ensure your complete satisfaction with every purchase. Due to the perishable nature of our consumable goods, we are generally unable to accept returns for reasons other than damage during shipping. We strongly encourage you to carefully review product descriptions and ingredient lists before placing your order.
However, due to the delicate nature and potential for damage during transit of our syrups, alternative milks, and other consumable goods, we have established the following return and refund policy
Damaged During Shipping:
- If your order arrives damaged (e.g., broken bottles, leaking containers, or other visible signs of damage), please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.
- To expedite the process, please provide the following:
- Your order number.
- Clear photographs of the damaged item(s) and the packaging.
- A brief description of the damage.
- Upon verification of the damage, we will issue a full refund for the affected product(s).
- Please note: Due to the cost of additional shipping and the potential for stock availability issues, we are unable to offer replacements for damaged items.
- The refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Equipment or Merchandise Returns
All equipment and merchandise sold by Hammer & Chip Coffee is subject to a 14 day post-purchase return allowance. To qualify for this return, the piece of equipment may be used but must not have sustained any physical or noticeable cosmetic damage during the 14 day window. The only exception to this rule, is if the equipment or merchandise was provably defective at the time of purchase. If you have met the above requirements, please send us an email at info@hammerandchip.com and we can assist you with the return process.
If the product was shipped to a destination outside of Calgary, Alberta, the buyer is generally responsible for facilitating the return shipment of unwanted goods back to Hammer & Chip Coffee.
Accidental Shipping Charge (Calgary Residents Only)
If your address is within the City of Calgary and you receive an accidental shipping charge, please email us and we will immediately issue you refund. Note, your address must fall within city limits and the total amount of your order must be greater than $33.99 CAD before tax to qualify for the free delivery rate.
Late or missing refunds
Do note that processing a refund can take up to 2 weeks. If your refund has not shown on your bank account, please first contact your credit card company. It may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at info@hammerandchip.com.
